오늘은 수업관련 연수일기를 작성하겠습니다.

지금 제가 듣는 메인 클래스는 여러가지 expression, Idiom, phrasalverb에 관해서 많이 배우고 있습니다. 표현을 배우고 나서 최대한 실제로 사용할 수 있도록반 친구들과 표현을 이용한 문장을 만들거나 이야기하면서 사용해보도록 여러가지 액티비티를 수업 중에 하고 있습니다.

오늘은 8가지 표현에 대해서 배웠습니다.

1.Like/love the sound of your own voice=Disapproving talk too much, usually without listening to other people.

2.not suffer fools gladly= Not be polite orpatient with people you think are less intelligent than you.

3.(as)tough as old boots= INF very strongand able to bear pain, criticism, etc. without complaining.

4.on the surface= when you consider obviousthings. OPP deep down.

5.play it cool= INF hide your feelings sothat you appear calm and controlled.

6.under somebody’s thumb= controlled orinfluenced by somebody.

7.have a quick temper= become angry easilyand often.

8.(as)thick as two short planks= INF(of aperson)very stupid.

실제로 IELTS 시험에서 채점을 담당하셨던 저희 메인 클래스 선생님께서말씀하시기를 이러한 표현들을 IELTS나 여러 시험의 스피킹 테스트에서 사용할 수 있다면 더욱 높은점수를 받을 수 있다고 하셨습니다. 이러한 Idiom들은대체로 긴 편이기 때문에 외우기 쉽지 않지만 반드시 외워야 하고, 꼭 실제로 말을 하면서 사용해 봐야익숙해 질 것 같습니다.
